Collins aims high

The 19-year-old has recently been called up for the England U-20 squad, an honour which underlines his vast potential.

Chris Tuner brought in the defender from Sunderland reserves and Collins quickly got fans on his side following pre-season performances and playing well in the first two league contests.

He told Footymad: "I hope I can fit in well here, I wanted a big change from Sunderland and I want to come here and get straight into the team or at least be pushing for a place and I have been happy with my form so far."

But despite being brought in to back up Guy Branston and Graeme Lee, Collins thinks he is good enough to make a first-team place his own – whether it be at right-back or central defence.

He continued: "I would like to think I can push Guy and Graeme all the way, they are both very good players and we can all push each other along but as long as we all playing well, that’s the main thing."

Collins will retain his place against Torquay today by continuing on the right with Lee Bullen taking the left-back duties from Paul Heckingbottom as Turner continues with a winning side, but mood in the camp is good.

He finished: "We are very confidant at the moment, a little disappointed with a few of the minor injuries, but we will be fine."
