Coventry match rearranged

The Championship clash with Coventry City that was abandoned after less than half an hour due to a waterlogged pitch at Hillsborough on 8th December has been rescheduled for Tuesday 19th February just days after the Owls trip to Sheffield United.

Both clubs may be quietly content with the delay as Coventry will have had time to readjust both on and off the field, having recently been saved from administration while Wednesday will hope that their current injury problems will have eased by then.

Fans who bought tickets for the original fixture may be disappointed to find that they face paying extra for the game. The SWFC official website reports that under the club's customer charter they are within their rights to charge half-price for a fixture that is abandoned and subsequently rearranged. In recognition of the loyalty of the supporters this right has been waived and a price of £5 adults and £1 concessions will be charged for those with ticket stubs from the original game to cover the costs of stewarding and policing.

This is an issue that is sure to divide opinion as some supporters may be surprised to find they have to pay more money while others may view this as a reasonable offer given the financial strain that the club is currently under.
