Sheffield Wednesday have been handed a home tie against League One opposition in the F.A. Cup 3rd round. The Owls will play MK Dons at Hillsborough during the weekend of the 5th January 2013.

The two sides have become familiar foes in recent seasons as both looked to gain promotion to the Championship. Last season saw the Owls finish 2nd to achieve their aim while the Dons once again missed out in the play-offs.

Karl Robinson’s squad includes a number of ex-Owls, striker Ryan Lowe is now getting a run in the side after a slow start to his career a Stadium MK, Darren Potter is a regular in the heart of their midfield and Jon Otsemobor usually plays at right-back.

It was Otsemobor’s injury-time winner against AFC Wimbledon on Sunday that booked MK Dons place in the 3rd round.

Wednesday beat the Dons 3-1 at Hillsborough last season and drew 1-1 at Stadium MK on a freezing night back in January.
