The Owls are taking a look at the player who will know former defender Madjid Bougherra well after playing with him for his country.
The much-travelled 27-year-old has had spells with Belgian clubs Westerlo, Mouscron and Germinal Beerschot as well as plying his trade for Italian sides AC Milan and Monza.
Brian Laws is hoping to run the rule over the player in today's reserve game with Huddersfield, where Marcus Tudgay will also play after being dropped for the Burnley game.
