A first-half penalty from Chris Brunt gave The Owls the lead going into the break but then Brunt, Glenn Whelan and Marcus Tudgay capped off a terrific victory with three goals-of-the-season contenders.

Laws said: "Funnily enough we had a great shooting session in training on Thursday but I certainly wasn't expecting anything like this.

"They were three of the best goals I've seen in a long time. You are usually lucky to see one of those in a game but we've scored three and that's incredible."

Meanwhile Laws is anticipating a great game in the FA Cup after the club were drawn against Manchester City at Hillsborough.

His former team-mate Stuart Pearce brings his Premiership outfit to S6 on the weekend of January 6th, although the date has not been confirmed as Sheffield United have also been drawn at home.
