Gaffer on Wolves win

Two goals from Marcus Tudgay and Deon Burton's third goal in three games gave Wednesday all the points in a game where on-loan goalkeeper Scott Carson pulled off some incredible saves.

Sturrock said afterwards: “There were a lot of excellent individual performances out there but the pleasing thing was that they took into the game what we had planned all well. They did exactly what they were told and they reaped the benefits.”

But the Owls boss still knows there is quite a lot of work to do to make sure Wednesday stay in the championship next season – and a win against inconsistent Burnley this weekend will be vital.

“Millwall and Crewe won so thank God we won,” he admitted. “I think it will go to the bitter end. We've got a big game next week because Millwall play Brighton. Hopefully we can win our home game.
