Glenn warms up for debut

The former Manchester City midfielder has been out of the first three games in pre-season due to a suspension he picked up while playing for Kevin Keegan's reserve side.

He gained rave reviews before he signed at the back end of last season and has impressed fans with his vision and hard work ethic during the summer friendlies.

The youngster got the best possible warm up to the clash with Peter Jackson's men on Saturday by playing for his country in a hard-fought win.

Whelan was instrumental as the Ireland Under-21 team went 12 games unbeaten by beating Bulgaria 3-2 last night.

Irish skipper Whelan went close on occasions but generally pulled the strings in midfield and should he be given the green light to start on against The Terriers, it will be in place of Lewis McMahon.

Meanwhile, Chris Brunt will be hoping to make his full Northern Ireland debut tonight against Switzerland and Stockport have hit out at claims that Wednesday are still looking at their star striker Luke Beckett.
