Goodbye Quinny?

The Republic of Ireland midfielder will miss the Luton Town and QPR games because of the red card he picked up against Notts County at Easter, his first match back since missing the previous five due to suspension.

Quinny was pushed up front in Wednesday’s embarrassing defeat to Colchester alongside substitute Jon Shaw and despite his usual enthusiastic running, he looked out of his depth.

24-year-old Quinn has been one of the few bright sparks at Hillsborough in a very dismal two years, and made his Owls debut while the club were in the Premiership.

It has been reported that he has been offered a new deal although he may want to move up to a higher level despite his love for Wednesday.

Chris Turner makes a point of being well disciplined but he has not been impressed with Quinn’s recklessness this season and the number of yellow and red cards he has accumulated.

As one of the few Wednesday players to be sent off on his first ever appearance (in an FA Cup game against Bristol City), he has to improve his temperament in the future.

Meanwhile, Leigh Bromby will miss the remainder of the campaign due to injury and will go under the knife.
