Post-match comments suggest he will be on his way out
Sheffield Wednesday manager Steve Bruce saw his side beat Lincoln City 3-1 on Saturday afternoon, but his post-match comments suggest it could be his last time in charge of the Owls team.
Following the victory Bruce told reporters that discussions with Newcastle United over him becoming the next manager of the Toon are in the hands of both clubs and he couldn't say much more until the two clubs reach some sort of compromise. Bruce also stated that he expects things to develop over the next day or two.
It doesn't take much reading between the lines to suggest that he is expecting to accept the position of Newcastle United manager and is just waiting on Wednesday and Newcastle to agree on a suitable compensation figure.
Both parties will be keen to resolve the issue quickly as Newcastle kick-off their pre-season with the Asia Cup this weekend and the Owls Championship campaign starts on Saturday 3rd August.
