Individual end-of-season reports: Jermaine Johnson

Last updated : 09 June 2009 By C. Morris

The pacy winger undoubtedly has ability and is one of the few members of the current Wednesday squad who can beat defenders and create opportunities from nothing.

This ability was evident at times during 2008/09 but sadly the end product often failed to live up to what had gone immediately before it.

A return of just 3 goals and 3 assists from 29 starts and 8 substitute appearances in the league can only be described as disappointing.

At times during the season Brian Laws chose to switch JJ between the wing and centre-forward positions and by utilising his pace and trickery he managed to get himself into a fair few goal-scoring situations but all too often lacked the composure to find the target.

JJ is clearly a threat at this level when he is on form but many will view his contribution as a frustrating one last term and more in terms of end product will be expected of him in 2009/10.

Overall verdict: 6.5/10.
