Sheffield Wednesday winger Jermaine Johnson has been selected by new Jamaica national team coach John Barnes to play a World Cup 2010 qualifier against Canada next Wednesday.

The match is a must-win game for the Reggae Boys if they are to have any chance of progressing to the next round of qualifying and JJ will fly out to meet up with his fellow countrymen after the Owls Championship fixture at Pride Park on Saturday.

Wednesday will hope that the winger comes through his international duty unscathed and makes a quick return to be available for selection against Coventry at Hillsborough the following Saturday.

Deon Burton has found himself out of the Wednesday first 11 of late and as a result he has been unable to regain his place in the Jamaica squad for this fixture.
