Sheffield Wednesday striker Lucas Joao has received a call up to represent his country in an Under 23 side as they make preparations for the Brazil Olympics this summer.

The Portuguese national team will face Mexico in the Azores on 28th March and the 22-year-old will hope to make a positive impression.

Joao had a good start to his first season in English football and has scored some vital goals, including netting in the impressive 3-0 win against Arsenal in the League Cup.

The former Nacional striker may still hope that he can do enough in the next few months to have a chance of making the senior team for Euro 2016 in France this summer. The Olympic run for just over 2 weeks in August and would clash with the start of the 2016/17 football season in England.
