Who will be Wednesday's number 1

Sheffield Wednesday played their final pre-season game of the summer at Hillsborough on Saturday with plenty of questions on the squad still to be answered, not least who will start the season in goal.

Jos Luhukay chose to go with Joe Wildsmith from the start of the 3-1 defeat to La Liga side Villarreal, meaning that he has started with 3 different goalkeepers in 3 friendly matches.

Wildsmith started last season as understudy to Keiren Westwood but took over when the EIRE international got injured. Towards the end of the season however he lost his place to Cameron Dawson as Luhukay looked to evaluate his options. Dawson performed impressively in the final few games as Wednesday enjoyed a strong finish to a disappointing campaign.

Westwood is still regarded as one of the best stoppers at this level but has been left out of the squad completely for the past two games, fuelling speculation that the Owls are looking to love him on due to his high wages in order to ease their financial pressures.
