The Owls manager, who has masterminded an amazing turn of fortunes for the club has settled in well since his move from Scunthopre.

But many fans are calling in radio shows and think that the club will make a return to the Premiership this season – not a totally unrealistic situation by any means although Laws would like to stabilise first.

He said after the win at Norwich: “There was no chance of me going straight from Scunthorpe to the Premiership so the only way I could have the chance of getting there was by using a vehicle that is big enough to get me there.

"Sheffield Wednesday ticks all the boxes on that even though we are not awash with money. Where this will take us, I don't know.

"The most important thing is that there is a building process. We have got to get into the position where we are a good Championship side and move on from there. If we keep improving then at some stage we'll get there. But when that will be I just couldn't tell you."
