Laws eyes promotion push

Wednesday went down 2-1 at Eastlands last night in their third-round FA Cup replay but gave Laws' old Nottingham Forest teammate Stuart Pearce's side a decent game.

Despite the Owls' manager being gutted about the defeat - he is still looking at the positive aspect and hopes that Wednesday can now push onto bigger and better things.

He said: "Of course I am disappointed we have not gone through but if I am going to lose to anyone I don't mind losing to Stuart.

"The difference between the Championship and the Premiership is you have to be clinical in front of goal - and it was that way tonight.

"It gives the lads a taste of what's to come if we ever get to the Premiership and this is the challenge, to try to achieve it.

"We'll certainly have a real go at reaching the play-offs. I said that just then to the lads - let's take that into our league performances."
