Laws happy after Leeds win

Cracking goals from Marcus Tudgay, Chris Brunt and Jermain Johnson gave Wednesday a deserved 3-2 win although the result was soured by a late fight back by Leeds and the dismissal of Tudgay.

But Laws was happy with the performance and praised the defence before their last-minute capitulation which nearly gave Leeds a point they did not deserve.

He said: "Iain Turner pulled off some great saves to keep us in the game and that's where Leeds are failing at the moment. They are creating chances, but they're not finishing them off.

Brunt's goal will live long in the memory after his 40-yard chip made it 2-0 just before half time.

"We were under the cosh and weathered the storm and then Chris Brunt pulls the trigger," Laws added. He has the vision and the audacity to shoot from there, but he's seen something and the execution was superb.

"Then Jermaine Johnson finished in superb style and at 3-0 everyone's delirious."

With Tudgay set for a suspension, crowd favourite Steve MacLean is set to deputise for the former Derby man at home to Plymouth tomorrow night.
