Laws slams poor Owls

Two right-hand side corners early on gave Wednesday many problems and shocking defending gifted The Foxes an early 2-0 lead.

Wednesday did the same against Watford - and the likes of Ipswich, Wolves, Bristol City and Burnley have all been in front over The Owls this season before even 20 minutes have been played.

"We lost the game in the first ten minutes," Laws said - something he must be getting used to saying due to Wednesday's poor starts this season.

"We went to sleep at two set pieces and it has cost us dearly.

"It doesn't matter if you play poorly or you play well, you've got to get your basics right to get you through the game. Within ten minutes, our whole game plan was turned upside down.

Meanwhile, Laws is reportedly unhappy with the form of his goalkeepers and he was quoted in The People: "The two keepers here have not done as well as we expected.

"They feel the pressure is on them. Every mistake the defence make tends to be a goal, but it is a team effort."

Michael Johnson was also taken off with a groin problem and may miss Wednesday's next game against Stoke in two weeks time.
