Lee out for season start

The former Hartlepool stopper will be badly missed but will have to undergo surgery after picking up the problem against Birmingham.

One bit of good news is the fact Guy Branston will not be forced to have a spell in the treatment room.

The stocky defender could be fit to face Colchester on Saturday after bruising a metatarsal in the Bolton game.

This could pave the way for Richard Wood or Chris Carr to come in against Everton tonight, partnering Patrick Collins in the centre of defence.

Collins, who was only brought in as a squad player should now at least start the season following his impressive performances in pre-season.

Chris Marsden will hopefully be given a run out tonight and Matt Hamshaw should continue in central midfield.
