Madine makes loan move

Sheffield Wednesday have allowed striker Gary Madine to join League One side Coventry City on loan. The deal, which is initially for one-month, should enable the former Carlisle forward to get more game time.

Madine was top scorer for the Owls when they gained promotion from League One in the 2011/12 season but he has failed to make a telling impression in the Championship.

The 24-year-old striker has played 14 times for Wednesday this season with most of his appearances coming from the substitutes bench. His only goal so far during this campaign came in the Capital One Cup win against Notts County.

Madine had a loan spell at Coventry earlier in his career, in 2009/10 and he has stated that he was disappointed not to sign a permanent deal with the club at that time.
