Make or break period approaches.

Championship teams face a run of 5 league games in the space of just over two weeks and for Wednesday this could well be a definitive time in shaping the rest of the season.

As things stand we have the abandoned Coventry fixture in-hand and are 9 points off a play-off place and just 4 points ahead of the relegation zone.

This period will be a tough test with 3 of the 5 fixtures away, although result on our travels have been just as profitable as home games so far this season.

These matches will also have an impact on the January transfer deals as prospective targets are more likely to come to an in-form team with a chance of a play-off spot than a struggling outfit.

On paper at least, with the exception of the Watford game perhaps, the fixtures are not the most challenging we will face this season. However, performances in the last few games seem to have dipped again and when taking into account our injury problems and a lack of depth in the squad I fear it may not be a very merry Christmas for the Owls, I just hope I'm proved wrong.
