It is an end of an era as Pressman leaves after 18 years, while a sorry farewell to fans favourites Quinn and Geary, who will have to find a new club in the summer.

The other players to leave Hillsborough include goalkeeper Chris Stringer, defenders Dean Smith, Jon Beswetherick and Brian Barry-Murphy, midfielders Paul McLaren, Terry Cooke and Robbie Mustoe.

Matt Hamshaw and Richard Evans will prove their fitness over the summer and be offered small contracts while impressive youngsters Jon Shaw and Lewis McMahon will be offered one-year deals after impressing in the end-of-season run-in.

Owls fans will be sad to see the back of Pressman, Quinn, Geary, Haslam, Bromby and Robins but the others who are getting the axe have not really done that good a job while representing the club.

Captain Smith and Barry-Murphy have been nothing short of appalling this season, and have been shown up countless times, while Mustoe, McLaren and Cooke have all struggled against injury and never really produced on a consistent level.

Robins scored 7 goals in 18 games but that was not enough to keep him at Hillsborough despite being on of the favourites to gain a new deal.
