Midfield injury blow for Bruce

Onomah facing a month out

Sheffield Wednesday have been dealt a blow with the news that Josh Onomah faces 3-4 weeks on the treatment table due to a hamstring injury.

The on-loan Tottenham Hotspur midfielder returned from a similar injury on Saturday as he featured as a second half substitute in the 1-0 win at Ipswich Town. However the Owls have now revealed that Onomah suffered a fresh injury in the final minute of the game and will now need a further spell on the sidelines to recover.

It is disappointing news for the player and for new Wednesday boss Steve Bruce, who managed Onomah when he was with Aston Villa last season and the England Under 21 international featured heavily in the Villa side that finished the season in the top 6 in the Championship.
