Money set to be splashed for Mac

MacLean, who scored 25 goals for Scunthorpe United last season whilst on loan, has long been on Turner’s acquisition list this summer after a frantic pre-season signing spree already.

A bid of around £100,000 should be enough as a compensation payment to the Glasgow club, although bids are still on the table for Scott Taylor and Steve Howard.

'I've spoken to Alex McLeish and Steven's advisors and we're willing to pay the necessary compensation,' Turner told the Sunday Mail.

Wednesday have already signed two Scottish players, Lee Bullen and Jon-Paul McGovern and the last time the club made three signings from north of the border (Phil O’Donnell, Simon Donnelly and Phil Scott), they were massive disappointments.
