Owls in need of league lift

Sheffield Wednesday travel to Brentford today and manager Garry Monk has made 4 changes to the side that were beaten by Manchester City in the FA Cup on Wednesday.

centre-back Julian Borner and midfielder Kieran Lee appeared to be substituted with injuries during the midweek match and are not in the squad for the game against the Bees. Tom Lees returns to the defence and Josh Windass starts in midfield having impressed as a substitute in the defeat against Derby last weekend.

Cameron Dawson replaces Joe Wildsmith in goal and Fernando Forestieri drops to the bench with top scorer Steven Fletcher returning to the starting line up.

Wednesday are in need of some positive results in the league as defeat today is likely to see them drop into the bottom half of the Championship. The Owls only have two league victories to date in 2020.

Brentford are well placed in top 6 and have plenty of goal scorers to cause the leaky Wednesday defence problems. However, they remain without former Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson and since he picked up an injury in January they have only won 2 of 9 games and are without a win in their last 5.

Wednesday have lost their last two fixtures at Griffin Park but did beat the Bees 2-1 at Hillsborough this season.
