Wednesday Vs Fulham: Team news & preview

After getting off to the perfect start last weekend at Huddersfield Garry Monk takes charge of his first home game on Saturday as Wednesday take on Fulham at Hillsborough.

The Owls could again be without captain Tom Lees who has missed the last 2 games with a niggling injury. Fernando Forestieri is missing due to his 6-match ban but other than that Monk has a strong squad to choose from. He is unlikely to make too many changes to the side that won 2-0 at Huddersfield but the likes of Sam Winnall and Kieran Lee could come into contention should the manager choose to tweak his starting 11.

Fulham have the option of bringing midfielder Harry Arter back into the team as he has completed a 1-match suspension. Manager Scott Parker has a strong squad to pick from, particularly in attack with the likes of Cavaleiro, Mitrovic and Knockaert at his disposal.

Both sides have suffered recent slumps in form after putting together a good initial run. Wednesday started with 3 wins from 4 Championship games but lost their next two before bouncing back with a win last time out at Huddersfield. Fulham reacted to an opening day defeat at Barnsley by winning their next 3 games but haven't won any of their last 3 matches in the league.

Fulham have won on their last two trips to Hillsborough, Mitrovic scoring the only goal in their last visit as the Londoners progressed towards what turned out to be a successful play-off campaign.
