Joao extends Hillsborough stay
Sheffield Wednesday striker Lucao Joao has signed a new deal with the club which will extend his stay in Sheffield to the summer of 2021.
The Portuguese forward joined the Owls from Nacional in 2015 and such was his form in his first season he made he debut for the senior Portugal side during that time. Joao found his 2nd season in England more difficult and spent a spell on loan at Blackburn in 2016-17 but has found his form again for the Owls under Jos Luhuaky, scoring 7 times during the 2nd half of last season.
The new contract comes after a transfer embargo on the club was lifted in the past week.
