The former Newcastle and Everton star can play at right-back, central defence and midfield and will be a fantastic asset for Brian Laws for the rest of the campaign.

Needless to say, he will not be able to play his parent club when Wednesday take on The Baggies on April 14 but he is just the sort of player The Owls have been crying out for since the start of the year.

32-year-old Watson is excited about the prospect of playing for The Owls and told the club's official site: “I've got a lot of experience and games under my belt to bring to the team.

"I've played at the stadium loads of times with various clubs, mainly with Newcastle, and I know the crowd is fantastic and the stadium is brilliant.”
