The Owls manager has made eight signings so far to bolster his backline and midfield, bought in a new goalkeeper to replace Kevin Pressman but no strikers have yet been signed.

Defenders Guy Branston, Patrick Collins, Lee Bullen and Paul Heckingbottom, stopper David Lucas as well as midfielders Chris Marsden, Jon-Paul McGovern and Glenn Whelan have come to Hillsborough so far in a frantic summer.

But as of yet, no new strikers have been signed up although on paper, Wednesday look ok in that department with Adam Proudlock, Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu, Jon Shaw and Kim Olsen the only strikers at the club.

Unfortunately though, Shaw was a late bloomer last season, Proudlock did not overly impress, Ndumbu-Nsungu was frustratingly inconsistent and Olsen looks like he eats hay and gallops.
