Sheffield Wednesday confirmed the extension of Seyi Olofinjana's contract at Hillsborough on Thursday. The former Wolves and Hull City midfielder, who spent a spell on loan with Wednesday last season, signed a short-term contract with the club last month.
The Nigerian has featured in recent games against Barnsley, Derby and in the Owls only victory of the season against Reading. He didn't play in last weekend's defeat at home to Huddersfield but will be in contention to return to the side at Blackpool on Saturday.
The current deal makes Olofinjana available for all fixtures up to and including Boxing Day.
