Wednesday Vs United: Team news & preview

Sheffield Wednesday take on Steel City rivals Sheffield United in front of the SKY TV Cameras at Hillsborough on Monday evening with both teams in great form in 2019.
Wednesday have lost just once in the league since parting company with Jos Luhukay in mid-December and United's form has seen them become genuine contenders for automatic promotion.

The Owls will be without left-back Achraf Lazaar as the on-loan Newcastle defender suffered a hamstring injury in the recent victory against Brentford. Liam Palmer switched to left-back with Dominic Iorfa coming on at right-back in that game but Morgan Fox has reovered from a back injury and provides another option at left-back.

The Blades are likely to have Jack O'Connell back in the team as he has recovered from a hamstring injury and fellow defender George Baldock is in contention to come back into the team having recently suffered a calf injury. Former Wednesday striker Gary Madine may play a part for the visitors and is sure to get a heated welcome from the Hillsborough faithful.

The last two fixtures between the sides have ended in 0-0 draws, including the reverse fixture this season where Wednesday adopted a very defensive approach at Bramall Lane. The Owls will be keen to avenge last seasons Hillsborough meeting where they were all at sea defensively, losing 4-2.
