Sheffield Wednesday travel to Premier League Champions Manchester City on Wednesday evening, hoping to come away with the biggest of scalps in the Capital One Cup.

Stuart Gray's side will be looking forward to the clash with the pressure off them in terms of expecting a positive result and they go into the game in good form and will be backed by over 5,000 Wednesday fans in Manchester.

Wednesday made a host of changes from their league line up when they faced Burnley in the last round of the League Cup but those that were in the side for Saturday's Championship victory over Reading will be hoping to keep their place and get their opportunity to play against the current cup holders.

Should Stuart Gray choose to make changes the likes of Chris Kirkland, Lewis Buxton and Gary Madine will come into the reckoning. Injured midfield duo Kieran Lee and Sam Hutchinson are unlikely to feature.

Manchester City came from behind to pick up a point at home to current Premier League leaders Chelsea on Sunday. Right-back Pablo Zabaleta was sent-off in that game and is suspended for Wednesday evening's match. Coach Manuel Pellegrini will also be without a number of players due to injury. Sergio Aguero, Stevan Jovetic, Fernando, Samir Nasri and David Silva are all set to miss out but City still have a host of global stars to choose from.

After a positive start to the season City are currently in something of a slump having gone 4 games without a win though they have faced Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Chelsea during that spell.

Wednesday have lost just 1 of their opening 10 games in league and cup and they have conceded only 4 goals to date.

The two teams last faced each other in the F.A. Cup in 2007 when a Steven MacLean goal earned Wednesday a 1-1 draw at Hillsborough and a replay at City where the home side prevailed with a 2-1 win, Lee Bullen scoring for the Owls.
