Sheffield Wednesday host Preston North End at Hillsborough on Saturday and with another international break coming into effect after this weekends round of fixtures Wednesday will be hoping to continue their progress in the top half of the Championship table.

Wednesday could welcome back influential attacker Fernando Forestieri as the former Watford man has resumed full training this week having missed two games due to a hamstring niggle.

Left-back Daniel Pudil is more of a doubt and he will have his fitness assessed before the squad is confirmed. Fellow full-back Jeremy Helan will miss out as he serves a suspension for his dismissal in the victory at Brentford last weekend.

Preston had two players sent off last weekend but still went close to beating Wolves, eventually having to settle for a point after conceding a late equalizer. Joe Garner and Bailey Wright will both miss the Hillsborough clash as a result of their red-cards.

Striker Paul Gallagher could return to the Preston side after a spell out with a calf injury and fellow front man Stevie May is likely to line up against his former club having made the move across the Pennines in the summer.

The Owls have won their last 2 league matches and their last 3 in all competitions having won at Newcastle in the League Cup.

North End are without a win in 6 and have managed just 1 win in the Championship so far, away to fellow newly-promoted side MK Dons.

The Owls beat Preston twice in their League One promotion season 2011/12 but North End won 2-1 when the sides last met at Hillsborough in the Championship back in 2009.
