Owls and Robins in search of important points for different reasons

Sheffield Wednesday travel to Bristol City on Saturday as they look to continue their fine form as they try to pin down a play-off place while the home side will be hoping to remain clear of a relegation battle.

Wednesday may have to make a change to their back four as central defender Glenn Loovens faces a late test on a knock he picked up in the midweek win against Blackburn. Vincent Sasso replaced Loovens on Tuesday and is likely to deputise if the Dutchman misses out.

Barry Bannan is available having served a 3-match ban and although the Owls have won all their games during his ban they haven't looked as fluent without him and he is expected to return.

Bristol City have no new injury or suspension concerns and are likely to choose from the same squad that drew with in-form Rotherham in midweek. Midfielder Korey Smith got 90 minutes under his belt after 6 weeks out injured and he is expected to keep his place. Experienced striker Peter Odemwingie will provide a threat in attack with Jonathan Kodjia and Aaron Wilbraham vying to partner him.

Wednesday have won 4 in a row after a 5 games winless run and they have only conceded 4 goals in their last 10 matches.

Bristol City have been in inconsistent form having won 3 and lost 3 of their last 7 matches. They have a 7 point cushion ahead of the bottom 3 and are just 2 points behind 16th place.

The Owls enjoyed a 2-0 home win over the Robins when the 2 teams met on the opening day of the season but have not won on their last 5 visits to Ashton Gate.
