Wednesday Vs Hull: Team news & preview

Sheffield Wednesday face Hull City on Saturday with both teams in need of a morale boosting victory. The Owls may be unbeaten in 6 games but 4 of those have resulted in draws with attacking football at a premium. Hull meanwhile are without a win in 6 and manager Leonid Slutsky appears to be on borrowed time.

The Owls go into the game without defender Tom Lees who continues to struggle with a groin injury. Sm Hutchinson could return later this month but Fernando Forestieri and George Boyd are not expected to feature until the new year.

Hull continue to be without the services of long-term injury absentee Abel Hernandez, Ryan Mason and Will Keane but they could be boosted by the return of experienced defender Michael Dawson who has shaken off an illness. Jon Toral could also come back into the squad having returned to training the week following a hamstring injury.

The two sides have not met since Hull City’s 1-0 play-off final victory in 2016. Both league encounters earlier that season ended in draws and the Owls have only beaten the Tigers once in their last 6 clashes at Hillsborough.
