Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal has been rewarded for an impressive April by being awarded the Sky Bet Championship manager of the month accolade.
The Owls came into the month with their play-off place under pressure after a run of 3 games without a win. The month started with something of a setback as Barnsley scored in injury time to deny Wednesday a win at Oakwell but since then the Portuguese manager has guided his team to 6 successive victories.
The Owls go into the final game of the season at home to Fulham knowing that a win will guarantee them a top 4 finish ahead of the play-off semi-finals.
In accepting the award Carvalhal stated that it is reward not just for him but for the hard work of everyone connected with the club.
