Sheffield Wednesday have today confirmed the signing of former Oldham Athletic full-back Kieran Lee on a free-transfer with the player signing a 3-year contract at S6.

The move has been in the pipeline for a couple of weeks and has now been completed after Lee returned from holiday.

23-year-old Lee came through the ranks at Manchester United and made 3 appearances for the Premier League giants before making the short switch to Oldham in 2008. He gradually worked his way into the Latics side and established himself in the side in the 2010/11 season, making 43 appearances.

Such were the level of his performances that season that Lee walked away with a host of player of the year awards at the club. This past season he played in over 50 games and again walked away with many of the club’s top awards.

His manager at Oldham, Paul Dickov, stated that he believes that Lee fully deserves to be a Championship player next season and described him as a fantastic player who has consistently been their best performer over the past two seasons.
