The annual Football League Awards ceremony took place in London on Sunday evening and popular Owls left-back Reda Johnson was among the winners.

Reda collected the award for the PFA footballer in the community accolade having been shortlisted for his work within the community.

Among the various projects that Johnson has been involved in during the past year was an initiative to raise funds to the value of £10,000 to purchase a sensory learning tool for a local school for children with special needs.

The Benin international defender made a personal donation of £5,000 towards the cause and assisted in raising the remainder of the funds by launching a charity appeal to raise awareness.

Much of the community work that footballers partake in often goes unnoticed and Reda has participated in over 100 community based events in his 3 years at Hilllsborough.

This Football League award helps to highlight some of the great initiatives that the PFA's members get involved in and it is a thoroughly well deserved accolade.

Well done Reda!
