Sheffield Wednesday's first competitive cup fixture of the 2013/14 season has been announced this morning following the draw for the 1st round of the Capital One Cup.
Dave Jones' side will make the short trip to League One new boys Rotherham United during the week commencing 5th August – the week following the first match of the new football league season.
The two sides last met at in this competition in 2008 when Rotherham won at Hillsborough on penalties after a 2-2 draw. The Owls enjoyed a 3-1 away win on their last trip to the Millers in the League Cup in 2007. Since then Rotherham have moved to a purpose built new ground and so it will be Wednesday's first visit to the New York Stadium and away tickets are likely to be eagerly snapped up.
