Owls fans attention switches to relegation rivals

Since last weekends matches the focus of Sheffield’s football fans has been firmly on the steel city derby that kicks off at 1pm on Sunday but for Wednesday fans at least there will be plenty of other football matches to concern them on Saturday.

With the Owls lying within the Championship relegation zone but within touching distance of the three clubs sitting directly above them they will be hoping for some favourable results ahead of Sunday’s clash.

Crystal Palace, lying 1 point and 1 place above the Owls face a trip to Derby County, Scunthorpe, who are 2 points clear of Wednesday host in form Bristol City and Watford, who are a further point clear go to play-off chasing Leicester City.

With the unpredictable nature of the majority of teams in the division then anything could potentially happen on Saturday but should all three strugglers manage to pick up three points then that will pile the pressure on the Owls ahead of what is set to be a highly charged afternoon at Hillsborough.
