Striker looking for a positive finish to the season

Sheffield Wednesday striker Fernando Forestieri will be eager to get back to concentrating on football having been dragged through the courts following a pre-season incident at Mansfield Town.

The 29-year-old was found not guilty of racial abuse at Mansfield magistrates court on Thursday. The charge came about as the pre-season friendly between the two sides last July ended in a mass brawl and Forestieri subsequently received a 3-match ban following an F.A investigation.

Having received the not guilty verdict the Owls striker took to social media to state that he felt vindicated by the decision of the judge and on the Owls website, swfc.co.uk he spoke of how his upbringing taught him the importance of respect.

The former Watford forward has seen his season hampered by injury and with 8 games to go he will be looking for a positive end to the campaign.
