Sheffield Wednesday’s Carling Cup 1st round tie against Blackpool will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
Wednesday will host Ian Holloway’s Championship side at Hillsborough on Thursday 11th August with a 7.45 kick-off. Home tickets for the clash will go on sale on Wednesday 22nd June and these tickets will be for the South Stand only. Season ticket holders/members can buy tickets for £10 adults and £5 concessions with general sale prices set at £12/£6.
As a result of the tie being played on a Thursday Blackpool have rearranged their league fixture for the following weekend to a Sunday and their midweek Championship game the week after this has also been rescheduled from a Tuesday evening to Wednesday.
The Owls could well be in line for a similar shake up of their fixtures as they are due to make a long trip to Bournemouth on Saturday 13th followed by another away game at Bury on Tuesday 16th August. It may be the case that these fixtures are moved to the Sunday and Wednesday respectively.
