Owls let duo leave Hillsborough

Carr, signed by Chris Turner and immediately made the reserve-team captain, has not had the most fruitful of spells in Sheffield since joining from Newcastle United.

On his first appearance for The Owls, Carr looked very uneasy and scored a spectacular own goal against QPR at the end of last season.

He has not featured at all under Paul Sturrock and was one of the players who were surplus to requirements as soon as the Scotsman took charge at Hillsborough.

Evans meanwhile has had his Wednesday career blighted by a knee injury and despite a good start to life in S6; he was never the same player which Turner signed from
Birmingham City in early 2003.

The Welshman has been confident of breaking back into the side but Sturrock is happy with the form of his other wingers so Evans has hardly had a look-in.
