Owls let keeper out on loan

Sheffield Wednesday have allowed goalkeeper Jake Kean to join League Two side Mansfield Town on loan for the remainder of the 2016-17 season.

Former Blackburn keeper Kean joined the Owls in the summer as understudy to number 1 Keiren Westwood who is widely acknowledged as one of the best keepers outside of the top flight in England.

However, the continued emergence of Wednesday's young goalkeepers, Joe Wildsmith and Cameron Dawson have meant that 25-year-old Kean hasn't had a look in and so he has chosen to take the opportunity to get some game time in the lower leagues.
