Owls look for Championship favours

Sheffield Wednesday have a rare weekend without a game ahead of them due to the postponement of the Sheffield derby following their bitter rivals extended run in the F.A. Cup.

Although the Owls won't be an action, a number of their relegation rivals in the Coca-Cola championship are in league action and if results go against them, Wednesday could find themselves bottom of the division before facing Coventry City at Hillsborough next Tuesday.

Lowly Scunthorpe travel to Stoke City on Friday night and Wednesday will hope the home team can continue their fine form while 2^nd-bottom Colchester go to Hull City on Saturday.

Fellow strugglers Leicester City sit just two points above the Owls and they face Norwich City at home.

With 15 games still to go there are plenty of points to play for and while Wednesday must first and foremost concentrate on their own form and results, it certainly wouldn't hurt to see the other relegation candidates beaten this weekend as it could be a psychological blow if results went against them and they went into the midweek fixtures propping up the table.
