Owls look to bounce back at Hillsborough

Having lost two games in succession for the first time this season Sheffield Wednesday will be looking for a positive response when they take on Ipswich Town at home on Tuesday evening. It will be no easy task for the Owls as the visitors are on a run of four wins in a row coming into the match.

Stuart Gray may have to do without the services of in-form centre-back Tom Lees. The former Leeds defender picked up a hamstring injury in the Capital One Cup defeat at Manchester City and was a notable absentee in the weekend defeat at Cardiff.

Kamil Zayatte has served his suspension following his dismissal in the cup game and either he or Lewis Buxton will play if Lees is unavailable. Buxton could also feature at right-back if Liam Palmer is given a chance in midfield.

Sam Hutchinson is thought to be close to a return to first team contention but it is unlikely that fellow midfielder Kieran Lee will feature before the international break following this weekends matches.

Opposing manager Mick McCarthy has plenty of attacking options as his side look to maintain their current position inside the top six in the Championship. Attacking midfielder Jonny Williams has joined the club on loan from Crystal Palace and is in contention to make his debut for the visitors.

It is unlikely that McCarthy will want to make too many changes to a winning side but Cole Skuse is struggling with a toe injury and so Jack Collison and Darren Ambrose will also come into contention.

Ipswich have conceded only one goal in their last four matches and have won one, drawn two and lost one of their four away matches this season. They enjoyed a 2-1 home victory against the Owls on the final day of last season and last seasons match between the two sides at Hillsborough ended in a 1-1 draw.
