Owls looking for 3 in a row against Rovers

Sheffield Wednesday face Blackburn Rovers at Hillsborough on Tuesday evening as they look to maintain their grip on a play-off position.

Wednesday could welcome back central defender Tom Lees from injury and striker Gary Hooper is also closing in on a return from a lengthy lay-off.

Steven Fletcher is eligible again having served a 3-match ban but with strike pair Jordan Rhodes and Sam Winnall having both found the net last time out the Owls are not expected to make too many changes in attack.

Blackburn are likely to be without centre-back Gordon Greer through injury and fellow defender Darragh Lenihan is a doubt having been laid low with an illness over the past few days. Veteran defender Wes Brown could return to the side as a result but Owls striker Lucas Joao will not be able to feature for Rovers against his parent club.

Wednesday have won their last two games without conceding a goal and have won 10 of 14 at home so far this season.

Blackburn drew at fellow strugglers Rotherham on Saturday and have won 2, lost 2 and drawn 2 of their last 6 games in all competitions. Despite their low league position their 2 away wins to date have come at promotion chasers Newcastle and Derby and they also took a point at in-form Huddersfield.

Wednesday enjoyed a narrow 1-0 win thanks to a Steven Fletcher goal when the teams met at Ewood Park back in September.
