Owls make short trip in search of first away points

Sheffield Wednesday travel to Leeds for the Yorkshire derby with the SKY TV cameras in place for the live Saturday lunchtime kick-off.

The Owls have picked up 4 points from their opening 3 games but were defeated at Ipswich in their first away game of the campaign. Only a last minute equaliser rescued a point from a lacklustre display against Reading at Hillsborough on Wednesday evening and manager Carlos Carvalhal will be looking for more attacking intent from his team.

Leeds come into the clash unbeaten in their opening 3 games but they are a point behind their Yorkshire rivals having not won a game so far. The whites went close to beating Burnley in their opening fixture and were 2-0 up at BristolCity in midweek, only to be pegged back by two late goals.

Wednesday look set to have to continue without first choice keeper Keiren Westwood, who is suffering with a kidney injury. Lewis Price made his Owls debut in midweek and although he looked a little shaky he is likely to continue to deputise.

Striker Atdhe Nuhiu is unlikely to be fit to play and fellow forward Lucas Joao is also struggling with a knock. Centre-back Glenn Loovens limped out of the Reading game during the first half and Vincent Sasso is in line to replace him.

Winger Modou Sougou was one of few to impress in midweek and will be hoping to make his first league start.

The Owls have only won one of their last 7 matches at Elland Road and lost 2-1 at Hillsborough when the two teams last met back in April.
