Owls must remain focussed on tricky test on Tuesday

Sheffield Wednesday enjoyed their biggest win of the season at the weekend, putting 5 past potential promotion rivals Norwich but they must keep their focus on the importance of every game as they face a tricky home test against Burton Albion on Tuesday.

The home side could be without key midfield linchpin Sam Hutchinson as he was substituted with an injury during the first half on Saturday. David Jones is likely to start should Hutchinson not be available.

After such a comprehensive victory at the weekend few changes are expected to the starting line-up but if Carlos Carvalhal does choose to go for some fresh legs with the games coming thick and fast the likes of Palmer, Reach, Pudil, McManaman and Fletcher are all options. Gary Hooper is closing in on a return from a lengthy injury lay-off but Tom Lees remains on the sidelines. Almen Abdi had a slight knock that kept him out of the Norwich game and his fitness will be assessed.

Burton make the short trip with a number of injury concerns. In-form attacker Michael Kightly is unlikely to be fit enough to feature for 90 minutes and forward Lucas Akins is also a doubt.

Ben Turner and Marvin Sordell picked up slight knocks in the weekend draw at Bristol City but there is hope that they may recover in time. On-loan Sheffield United full-back John Brayford recently made a return from injury but may struggle to play 2 games in short succession at this early stage of his comeback.

The victory over Norwich saw the Owls bounce back from 2 successive defeats and they have won 5 of their last 7 matches.

Burton have drawn their last 3 games and have won 2 of their last 6 with their only defeat in that spell coming at high-flying Brighton.

The two sides met competitively for the first time ever back in August with Wednesday suffering a 3-1 defeat.
