The figures have been released by the Football League to give fans more of an idea of how transfers are dealt with and who ends up with what.

The Owls spent £41,224 on player's representative fees alone during the second half of last season for when Chris Turner brought in loan stars, renegotiated contracts and contract terminations.

At the top of the listing are Yorkshire neighbours Barnsley, who spent £19394 more than the Hillsborough club.

In other news, Wednesday face a home side with newly-relegated Walsall in the first round of the League Cup, Saddlers boss Paul Merson is not best pleased with the draw and said: "Considering we were a seeded team, it couldn't have been much tougher."

Also the home clashes with Barnsley and Doncaster Rovers will now be changed to Sunday 2pm kick-offs with the new dates being the 17th October and the 6th of March respectively, while the Huddersfield away game has moved from Easter Monday to Tuesday 29th March and the trip to Hartlepool will now be played on Friday 15th April instead of Saturday 16th.
