A busy transfer window deadline day for Sheffield Wednesday concluded late on Monday evening with the signing of Portugese defensive midfielder Filipe Melo.
Melo joins the Owls on a 3-and-a-half year deal for an undisclosed fee from Moreirense in Portugal.
The 25-year was captain of Moreirense and led the team as they won the second tier title in his home country last season. Having won promotion they currently occupy a respectable mid-table position in the Primeira Liga.
The addition of the tall midfielder completes a hectic day at Hillsborough with 4 players joining the Owls and two players making moves away.
